Sharia Swimsuit!

From Al Wafd newspaper "Maady Sports Club Elections Heat Up Over Sharia Swimsuits!" [click to read details]
What a deformity! I don't understand till what extent is this freaky show willing to go? Look at our public beaches and how ugly they have become! Fat women pulging into water with their clothes on, morbidly sticking to their bodies and sometimes even showing what's underneath! An eyesore of the worst kind. The only place where you can still enjoy a swim is at a sport club, where there is a dress code for swimmers. The conservative ones have got female only days, where the whole pool area is evacuated from the supposedly "hungry wolves", which used to be part of the human species and called "men". No problem so far. But for the frenzy to stretch its boundaries and include the friendly species of "women" who wear regular swimsuits, that is definitely abnormal! What did these women do to be exiled into a sub-category and be tagged as unwelcomed among those "wholly covered" friends? All they did was to wear what the dictionary definition of a swimsuit is. They wanna have a decent tan and they also don't wanna be inspected by males. That seems good enough. What more can they do to deserve due respect?

What really troubles me are the infinite possibilities of "What Next?" If you don't wanna swim alongside with a "normal woman", use your bathtubs ladies!
*I've chosen very decent photos to display.

i find it strange that women are covering from women.

mm..interesting.

As for the part: "Look at our public beaches and how ugly they have become!"

i guess everyone has the rigth to wear what they want. Also, everyone has the right to enjoy the sea...mish keda?
What are the "covered up" ones supposed to do? where should they go if they want a dip in the sea?

Walahi i am not tring to annoy you, i am just trying to make you look at it from a different way.

ya fadfadation enta shaklak 3ayez t2awe7ny w7'las. Ya3ni you know it is not a good sight, but you still ask yroo7o feen. Where did they use to go only 30 years ago? There was a sense of what is appropriate and what is not. There was a sense of beauty and real conservatism. I don't think being covered while all the soaked clothes become transparent serves any purpose. These are, unfortunately, the common images that I didn't want to display.
My objection was not to the invented new swimsuit, although it has nothing to do with Sharia, but anyhow, it is better than those who swim with their clothes. My objection is that even this invention has got its fanatics, who can not tolerate other women that chose not to wear it. That's the whole issue.

you know it is very silly ,really ,I mean that MB member left all the problems of women in Egypt and talk about this problem
for another side I agree with you that there are fanatics who don't tolerate other ladies who wear swimsuites not in the beaches but even in the ladies day
already most ladies now go and swim in the ladies day in most clubs

You got me really laughing on "Batman". Wallahi they r free to dress like Spiderman 7atta, but they can't restrict the freedom of others.

zeinobia:
Yeah you hit the heart of it. The focus on appearances is increasing at the expense of serious issues. Those ladies already have their own days, where no man is allowed to see them, but still wanna cover up from women. That's an extreme in itself. But to also reject those women, I don't know what to call that.

Assalamu alaikum,

I think some people need to get a grip. How is it your business what women choose to wear, unless it's your wife or daughters? The first mistake in your blog is that it appears you are speaking of the swimsuit in congruence with your country, Egypt I think? When the swimsuits are sold to worldwide. We do not all live in a place where we are fortunate enough to have places of women's only swim. Or that we'd have the money to pay to a member of such clubs if we did. And even if I lived there and I went to these pools, why shouldn't I, a Muslim woman, be able to go to the beach with my family and feel free to play in the water with my toddler? I mean really people.
